Interview: Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are one of the most talked about couples in the world. Despite negative rumours over the last few years, their relationship keeps going from strength to strength, and the couple are happier than ever before.
Ange, the former wild child, has shaken her bad girl image and settled down with Brad, creating a family with him. The smitten actress opened up about how happy she is, thanking Brad for her fortune.
“Brad has expanded my life in ways I never imagined,” she revealed, saying, “We built a family. He is not just the love of my life, he is my family. I hold that very dear.”
“I suppose what I’ve learned from Brad is to be able to have the kind of family whose happiness and well-being comes before your own.”
“I’m very, very grateful to have such a loving family, and I wouldn’t have that without him,” she added.
Last week, we reported that Ange had finally patched things up with Brad’s parents, sparking rumours of future wedding plans.
She admitted her children have even brought up the subject of marriage after watching Shrek’s wedding to Princess Fiona in the animated film.
She admitted, “They have mentioned it, yes. If you take it in an emotional way, you think, 'Ohhh, the children!' They don’t feel secure enough! But then you think - now wait a minute, they think a wedding is a party with a four-layer tiered cake!”
She also reveals her kids love it when the happy couple act intimately, “If they see Mommy and Daddy in need of some private time ’cause they’re going to kiss and whatever, the kids get all giggly and happy. Because it gives them some security.”
Brad and Ange currently have six children - Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, six, Shiloh, six, and Knox and Vivienne, both three.
Family is the most important thing in the world to Ange right now. Her children have already started to develop their own personalities, and the actress is learning a lot through them.
The Tomb Raider actress has never really been a girly girl, but her daughter Vivienne is as feminine as you can get. “It’s very funny for me to have to buy all things pink and watch princess movies!” the former tomboy admitted. “She is so elegant and delicate. Vivi will pick flowers from the garden and put them in her hair... She likes to get her nails done and collects stuffed animals.”
On the other hand she says her youngest son Knox is “very much a dude. Very physical, tough. He loves dinosaurs and swords.”
As for future plans for expanding the family, Ange says that although nothing is actively planned at the moment, it is a possibility, “We just don’t know. I could end up pregnant.”
The happy couple met on the set of filming Mr and Mrs Smith. Their careers are still booming, and Ange credits Brad with helping her juggle her career with raising children, “I have a wonderful partner in Brad and we take turns working always.” He is also planning to quit acting when he is 50-years-old, in order to help Ange with parenting.
Ange has patched up troubles with her father Jon Voight, who accompanied her to the premier of her new movie In The Land Of Blood And Honey in December 2011. They previously fell out for 10 years after comments he made about her mental health, but they appear to have put the past behind them.
It seems like everything has finally sorted itself out for Ange, and we can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store for her - be it wedding bells or baby number seven! Watch this space...
