The 27-year-old went to university in Cairo, before returning to the UAE to work in events. But it wasn’t long before she started wanting more and wondering how she could work for herself and enjoy Dubai’s outdoor lifestyle at the same time.

Noura now teaches yoga and pilates to private and corporate clients, as well as running  classes in Safa Park.
“I used to exercise, back in Egypt, but it wasn’t fun. It was like punishment. When I got back to Dubai, I decided to qualify as a Pilates instructor and make my passion my job.”

She adds, ”I got in touch with Real Pilates on Beach Road and got my Stott Pilates qualification, to add to my yoga qualification.” She then swapped her events job for a position at a gym and 48 | SHAPE November 2010 was one step closer to achieving her dream. She then plucked up the courage to go it alone and launched her own Yogalates group. “I just had to organise my visa and I was ready to go.”

And, for Noura, the risk, and the effort, seems to have paid off. Her classes are growing and growing. “Things are going really well. I’m always busy but, more importantly, I’m happy too. My advice, for anyone looking to turn their live around, is to go for it.”
