Celebrating almost two decades of culinary success, Le Classique is a Grand Dame on the UAE’s fine dining restaurant scene. Set amidst the bucolic grounds of Emirates Golf Course and a firm favourite among the city’s more established residents, it’s seen a lot of adventure in its 19-year life-span. But perhaps that’s why Le Classique, which serves contemporary European cuisine with a French twist, continues to win awards and new fans. After all, experience is a priceless commodity. Thanks to a recent face-lift, the restaurant is certainly looking spritely too, with new earth tones, dark woods, frosted glass and generous chocolate brown leather chairs. The ambiance is self-assured and the atmosphere is perfect for that essential meet-the-parents-in-law sort of supper. In terms of cuisine, Le Classique is also a winner. Chef Francois Porte, who also happens to be Dubai’s longest serving executive chef, has created several signature dishes including the utterly sublime mushroom risotto with pan fried duck liver. However, its Le Classique’s fabulous flambè’s which really take the biscuit, with melt-in-the-mouth crepe suzette served sizzling perfectly at the table.
