Heavy fog blankets the UAE

All you needed to do was look out your window today morning to see the fog everyone's talking about.

Heavy fog shrouded the UAE this morning, causing not only road diversions, but also flight delays due to poor visibility. Satellite images of the fog showed almost two-thirds of the country covered in thick fog, reports Gulf News. From the northern and eastern parts of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, down to Al Ain and Dubai, fog covered most of the country.

The fog has also caused severe delays and flight cancellations, and these delays are expected to continue until the weather clears, which according to the The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) will be around Tuesday, December 26.

Visibility on the roads was also severely reduced this morning, down to a mere 100 metres, which prompted authorities to issue warnings urging motorists to drive carefully, keep their fog lights on and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

Drive safe everyone, and make sure to call your airlines ahead of time if you're flying this festive season!
