Free entry to Dubai parks for these people
The Dubai Government aims to provide People of Determination (those with disabilities) every opportunity to live dignified lives. The government has made accessibility paramount, with designated parking spots throughout the city along with special facilities at hotels and airports.
Dubai Municipality will now also exempt those accompanying People of Determination to certain places from paying entrance fees, reports Khaleej Times.
This decision comes as part of the 'My Community Is a Place for All' initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, which is aimed at turning Dubai into a place friendly to People of Determination by 2020,
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, issued an administrative decision which will allow two people accompanying a Person of Determination to be exempt from the fees imposed on the entry of certain Municipality facilities.
Some examples of these facilities include public parks in the Emirate, Children's City and Dubai Safari Park.
What a fantastic initiative!
