Eid Escapes
We'd like to be on this boat now, please

When location scouts went looking for an idyllic location in which to film an ad for Bounty chocolate, they chose the Seychelles – despite the product being inspired by the Caribbean. That tells you everything you need to know about its superior landscapes and ability to seduce the general public. It’s also famous for being home to giant tortoises, the Coco de Mer national park and world heritage site and lusciously fruity Creole cuisine. The cooler season runs May to September but brace yourself for some tropical downpours, which are a year-long feature and all part of the fun.

WHERE TO STAY
The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles went straight to the top of our Best Hotels in the World list when we stayed there earlier this year. It’s beyond cool and its charm is effortless – from the laid-back billionaire’s beach house feel of the villas to fun elements like the complimentary pedalo, which reminded us of family holidays in the Costa del Eighties – this haven doesn’t try too hard to be paradise, it just is. It’s also on the main island just a short (air-conditioned, refreshments provided) drive from the airport, so no lengthy white-knuckle transfers await.

INFO: Villas sleeping two cost from Dhs3,659 per night excluding taxes, Mahé, Seychelles, +248 439 3000, fourseasons.com/Seychelles
