Delivery Review: Keema Biryani, Biryani Pot Dubai

When it comes to fusion cuisine, it’s often a little bit of an eye-roll. But Biryani Pot has just launched the Keema Biryani, which they are toting as a bolognese biryani, and we’re instantly interested!

Total soul food, the order arrives at our door promptly and like a pack of wolves, we rush to get it out and on the table.

As well as the keema biryani, which is newly launched and available until the start of Ramadan, we order the eatery’s famous veggie quinoa biryani, along with a host of curries and sides – this really is a feast to feed the masses.

The menu is far from traditional Indian, with kebab dogs (which look like hot dogs, but with kebabs) and quinoa dishes standing out. But you will also find classics such as butter chicken, samosa chaat and tandoor grilled meat and fish also included.

The keema biryani is the first thing we try, a classic rice dish, cooked in homely bread, served in a clay pot – which you get to keep (bonus). We love the rich and spicy dish, and it is delicious paired with paneer tikka masala (so creamy!) and dal makhni.

Another highlight has to be the tandoor prawns. They are succulent and tender, it’s hard to believe that they have arrived at our Dubai Marina door – having travelled from Umm Suqeim – this perfectly cooked.

The best part about Biryani Pot has to be the fact that you can make it a lot healthier by ditching the rice and opting for a quinoa base for your biryani dish instead. A healthy version of our favourite Indian cuisine? We’ll be going back for more.
