Conflict for Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow
As the frontman of Coldplay, Chris Martin must be a bit miserable, since his songs are largely about being sad and lonely – but there may be a good reason for his melancholy. According to insiders, Chris, 36, is absolutely sick of being in Los Angeles and wants to move back to England as soon as possible – the only problem is his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, is super happy in her home city.
Chris Wants Out!
Chris relocated to Los Angeles last year with Gwyneth, 41, and their two children, daughter Apple, nine, and son Moses, seven, so the actress could be nearer to her friends, but he’s now desperate to return to his home country. A source told RadarOnline.com: “Chris has told Gwyneth he wants to move back to his native England with their two children, Apple and Moses, once the school year is over. He hasn’t been happy living in LA because Chris just isn’t into the Hollywood scene.” The Princess of China singer is famously best buds with Jay Z and Beyoncé, but as the power couple has spent a large amount of time touring the world he’s been left feeling further isolated. Now Chris doesn’t believe his family need to stay in the US once their kids have finished their academic year at school and he’d rather be closer to his relatives in the UK. The source explained: “At first, Chris was doing it for Gwyneth because of the sacrifices she made for him, especially since he would be on the road for months at a time while the band was touring. But Chris now recognises that Gwyneth doesn’t need to be living in Los Angeles for her career.” Paltrow’s star has been rising since she moved back to the US – she’s become a health guru with her series of cook books and weekly Goop newsletter – so a move away from the clean-living haven that is Hollywood will not be one she’s likely to go for, even though Chris has basically become a stay-at-home dad.
London Ain’t Calling
Heading back to London might be more trouble than it’s worth for the couple, who have reportedly become very unpopular with the neighbours of their £7 million (Dhs43m) Belsize Park property. The Daily Star claims that some residents said they were relieved that the pair hadn’t been around after being annoyed by the extensive building work being carried out on the North London pad. One local told the newspaper: “We’ve had years of their building works. They’ve taken down trees so they can park their flash cars in the driveway and they put a huge swimming pool in the back garden.” Perhaps Mr Martin will have to wait just a little longer to find his Paradise.
