A Dubai institution, the Bateaux Dubai – a stunning glass-covered dhow on the Creek – offers much more for your dirham than your standard fine dining meal. For starters, there’s the awesome 360 views of the twinkling lights of Bur Dubai and Deira as you crawl slowly up and down the Creek, which makes for some serious photo opps between courses. Among the sights you’ll take in during the two and a half hour dinner cruise are the Twin Towers, Clock Tower and Sheikh Saeed’s residence, while the live music from the on-board pianist keeps you entertained.

And that’s before you even dive in to the delish menu – all freshly prepared on board. Begin with crispy soft straight-from-the over baguettes and wholesome homemade broccoli soup before moving on to the starters. Top marks go to the Benedicte-style asparagus, served with lashings of creamy sauce on a lighter-than-air fluffy potato pancake. Or, if you’re after something less filling, the delicate Arabic mezze packs a flavoursome punch but is small enough to preserve your appetite for the main event.

For mains, the sirloin beef is succulent and served on a bed of pillow-soft smooth mash, while the vegetable red Thai curry is the stand out option for veggies.

After some fresh air on deck, prepare for some serious naughtiness with a choice of sticky, sweet and devilishly saucy deserts. For full-on chocolate-dripping decadence, opt for the oozingly delish dark chocolate fondant, but the star of the show has to be the white chocolate crème brulee, dripping in raspberries and utterly irresistible!
