An on-top-of-his-game George Clooney plays Ryan Bingham, a career-transition counsellor whose job is travelling around the country sacking people whose bosses don’t have the stomach to do it themselves. When Ryan’s slimy boss (Jason Bateman) hires feisty young upstart Natalie (played by the fab Anna Kendrick) who’s straight out of uni and keen to prove she can be more efficient at dropping the axe on unsuspecting employees than Ryan, he takes her on the road to prove her wrong. With hilarious firing scenes (some starring non-actors reinacting their real life sackings) this fab flick is already being lauded as the best and boldest American comedy of the year.
