Celebrity Headlock
The normally cordial Emma Stone is apparently such a big fan of Jennifer Aniston that she nearly hugged the life out of her! After spotting Jen on the red carpet, Emma ran towards her and manoeuvred the Friends star, who didn’t seem as keen to see Emma, into a strong headlock that left Jen’s face squished as she struck a pose resembling somebody sitting on the toilet. We bet this pic won’t make it into the Aniston family album

Top 3 Celeb Oscar Selfies

2 Jennifer Anniston photobombs JLo

3 Idris Elba and Jessica Chastain make a cute couple

BEST DRESSED DUDES

Eddie Redmayne was a double winner on the big night picking up Best Actor <and> accolades for his wardrobe. Love the navy tux!

Young Ansel Elgort followed suit by wearing a slightly lighter shade of blue.

Selma star David Oyelowo caught our eye in a rather slick crimson three-piece.

SHOCKING MOMENTS WE SPOTTED!

JLo Takes a Tumble
Chris Pine really is a knight in shining armour and now we have pictures to prove it. The Star Trek actor used his strong forearm to rescue Jennifer Lopez when the singer stumbled on stage after presenting the Academy Award for Best Costume Design to The Grand Budapest Hotel. Just as it looked like JLo was gonna drop, Chris stabilised her so hardly anyone noticed the near-fall – apart from Team Ahlan!.

Patricia Arqette Goes Viral!
And the Best Speech Award goes to… Patricia Arquette! After accepting her Best Supporting Actress statue for Boyhood, Arquette used her moment in the spotlight to call attention to gender discrimination, saying: “To every woman who gave birth to every taxpayer of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights. It’s time to have wage equality once and for all.” Meryl Streep, along with all the other female guests, went wild waving her arms in the air and the moment went viral across social media within seconds. Right on, Patty!

THE TEAR JERKER!
David Oyelowo and Chrine Pine were moved to tears after John Legend and Common brought the house down with their performance of Glory from the motion picture Selma. Aww!

Ladies in Red
They say wearing a red on the red carpet is a no-no, but several ladies proved critics wrong this year. Giuliana Rancic played the part of stunning siren in a hot red Mireille Dagher dress while Rosamund Pike’s Givenchy number also won our vote. Dakota Johnson also got in on the act in a Saint Laurent number but the colour didn’t work on Solange Knowles’ caped-jumpsuit – too much of a good thing?

Pearly Queens
Pearls were the detail of choice at this year’s awards but rather than draped around the neck, they found themselves stitched into designer gowns. Case in point? Julianne Moore killed it in this elegant Chanel Haute Couture gown and Lupita worked the trend in Calvin Klein couture. Felicity Jones also donned a pearl dress, but the warrior neckline and her washed out make-up look landed her in our Worst Dressed list.

Hot Couples Alert!
So we didn’t get to see Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin walk the red carpet like we dreamed, but we weren’t short of gorgeous couples…

Channing & Jenna
Leading the line was Channing Tatum, sporting a slight tan courtesy of his recent trip to Dubai, and his hot wife Jenna Dewan.

Benedict & Sophie
Brit star Benedict Cumberbatch missed out on the Best Actor gong, but he was rocking a much prettier accessory in his pregnant new wife Sophie Hunter, who looked amazeballs in a red.

Nicole & Keith
Nicole Kidman and her rocker husband Keith Urban looked more in love than ever as they graced the ceremony hand in hand and kept staring longingly at each other throughout the evening.

The Super Snubs!
Who was left out in the cold at the Oscars?

SNUBBED: Naomi Watts SNUBBER: Ryan Seacrest
Is Ryan Seacrest getting too big for his boots? The E! network host was doing his usual red carpet interviews when the publicist of Naomi Watts dragged her client towards him in the hope of getting an interview. Unfortunately, Ryan wasn’t interested in speaking to the Birdman actress at that moment and instead beckoned over your Whiplash actor Miles Teller while Naomi’s publicist made a sharp U-turn. Awks!

SNUBBED: Neil Patrick Harris SNUBBER: The Oscars Audience
The biggest snub of the night came for Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris who despite doing an awesome opening performance failed to ignite the star-studded audience. Some celebs, such as Keira Knightley, were caught on camera cringing during the show as Neil tried in vain to entertain. Is it time to bring back Ellen DeGenres?

SNUBBED: John Travolta SNUBBER: ScarJo
Scarlett Johansson and her many fans were left squirming when oddball John ‘Revolter’ snuck up on ScarJo, who was posing for pictures, and planted a kiss on the 30-year-old’s cheek. We all know that the Avengers star is stunning (despite that emerald gown and undercut), but that’s no excuse for 61-year-old Travolta to lose control.

Arabian Designers at the Oscars
Flying the flag for our homeland, Arabian designers Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad garnered a fair few followers this year. Rocking gowns by Saab, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lopez made an impact, while Jenna Dewan Tatum, Chrissy Teigan and Anna Faris turned heads in Murad gowns.
