One minute rundown: Apparently Amy was first given a guitar at the age of 13, and unlike most of us, she actually learnt to play it! It happened in a fairytale manner – a friend gave her demo tape to a friend and she was eventually signed by Simon Fuller and 19 Management. Her debut album, the funky Frank was nominated for the Mercury Prize – not half bad for a girl so young – and her first single from the second album, Rehab, won her am Ivor Novello Award and a BRIT award for Best British Female Artist. Back to Black also sent the bubbly rocker to number one in the UK Albums Chart.

So, everything was groovy for Ames… until September 2006, when apparently (well it definitely looked like it) she dropped four dress sizes. She admitted to suffering eating disorders and was later clinically diagnosed as a manic depressive.

In May 2007, Amy married Blake Fielder-Civil in surprise ceremony in Florida. He’s since been blamed by all and sundry for her drug addictions and recent time in recovery, but the two weirdos seem happy enough… so far.
