One minute rundown: It wasn't a very good start for "she of the chicken or tuna", when she lost out to Justin, Britney and Christina - the poor mite froze in her Mickey Mouse Club audition. However, after meeting 98 Degrees boy-bander Nick Lachey at a Teen People party she fell in love and with more than a little help from him (we're sure) later released a top selling album entitled Sweet Kisses. Bless.

Her second album in 1999 wasn't so successful and deciding to concentrate on "becoming herself" she broke up with Nick. They got back together on 9/11 and he later proposed on a boat, at sunset. Altogether now - yuck! They married in a sickly sweet ceremony in Texas in 2002, to the no doubt nauseating tune of Nick's wailing boy band buddies, and went on to star in their very own TV show - Newlyweds, putting their joint stupidity on display for the world to cringe at.

In 2005, Jess toned her butt for the hot-pant flaunting role of Daisy Duke in movie The Dukes Of Hazzard. On her three year wedding anniversary, Nick stayed home, while Jess flew to Kenya as a goodwill ambassador for Operation Smile. She stated it as the beginning of the end for her and Lachey and the couple filed for divorce in December 2006. She then hooked up with singer John Mayer, but they broke up in May 2007. He liked to speak Japanese, apparently, which could have been an issue there. Feels like she's only just mastered basic English.
