Career: Goldie began her acting career in 1967
with a role in the sitcom Good Morning, World. She became famous as one of the
cast members of the sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Roles in
films including Cactus Flower, which won her an Oscar for Best Supporting
Actress, There’s a Girl in My Soup and Butterflies are Free followed, but it
was her lead role in the 1980 film Private Benjamin that boosted her profile
and earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. Her other films include
Wildcats, Overboard, The First Wives Club and The Banger Sisters.
Relationships: Goldie has been married twice:
first to dancer Gus Trikonis from 1969 to 1976, and then to actor Bill Hudson
from 1976 to 1980. They had two children, Oliver Hudson, born 7th September
1976, and Kate Hudson, born 19th April 1979. She has been in a relationship
with actor Kurt Russell since 1983 when they met on the set of Swing Shift.
Their son, Wyatt Russell, was born on 10th July 1986. All of her children now
work as actors.
