Due in part to the hands-on approach of this charismatic manager, LPM (as it’s locally known) cemented its top spot as one of Dubai’s favourite restaurants and also featured on the 2012 San Pellegrino list.

Tell us about the accolades LPM won last year.
We were ranked 96th in the world in The World’s Best Restaurants 2012 guide sponsored by San Pellegrino.

That’s a real compliment...
It was a very pleasant surprise, to say the least. This list is compiled by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, an influential group of over 900 international leaders in the restaurant industry, each selected for their expert opinion of the international restaurant scene, so it’s a real honour.

How have you been instrumental in winning these awards?
A restaurant can only achieve such successful results if there is a sense of teamwork, like a football team. I am not a striker but a team leader or a coach (in this occasion a good one). I maintain the team to a high level and make sure they have the right mentality that fits with the vision of LPM.

What’s the most popular dish on the menu that we should all try?
Burrata – a fresh, smooth and delicious Italian cheese.
