With six years and six children to show for their relationship, it seems Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are finally ready to make things official, with many suggesting they plan to tie-the-knot in France this summer or later on in the year.
According to reports, the famous couple are planning an “intimate and informal” wedding in the South of France, most likely at their newly renovated estate, Chateau Miravel in Correns. The rumours have even gone so far as to claim that Angelina will be wearing a L’Wren Scott wedding gown and that her brother James Haven will officiate the ceremony.
The news comes after Brad told USA Weekend earlier this year, “The kids ask about marriage. It’s meaning more and more to them. So it’s something we’ve got to look at.” And even Ange admitted, “I think it would be hard to say no to the kids,” suggesting that the possibility of nuptials between them is highly likely.
And some have suggested that with New York laws concerning marriage having now changed, something both Brad and Ange had been fighting for (he recently took the strong “no marriage until everyone can do it” stance), they may feel more comfortable tying the knot themselves.
But not everyone is convinced that the couple are going to marry this year. Michael Latz, a local mayor in the South of France who is a good friend of the stars says, “There are no plans for them to marry that I know of – and I would know. Every year, the rumours resurface. More noise from the American press to sell a few more pounds of paper.”
Meanwhile, Brad and Ange have been busy with their own film projects which has caused them to spend some time apart this month. Brad has been busy promoting his new films Moneyball and Cogan’s Trade while Angelina has been finalising the last details of her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey, a film about a couple’s romance affected by the Bosnian War.
