Bourjois 10 Days Nail Enamel, Dhs39, Boots
We say: When Bourjois brought out a new nail varnish this summer boldly entitled 10 Days Nail Enamel I simply had to put it to the test. I opted for two coats of Coral Pink (no16) but resisted adding a topcoat. I would never normally leave a manicure without a topcoat – that would be utter madness as not only does a topcoat enhance colour and shine, it also doubles the durability of any varnish. But precisely because if this advantage I forced myself to go topless in order to fully test Bourjois’ claims.
Here’s my mani diary – see the full results for yourselves in my gallery above.
Day 1: Amazing solid coral colour, goes on like a dream.
Day 3: Hmm... The colour looks like it’s receding along the edge of the nail tips ever so slightly.
Day 5: My manicure is looking a little weathered, particularly my ragged cuticles, but a quick file, buff and moisturising improves the look.
Day 8: The cracks are starting to show...
Day 9: My mani is a goner. RIP.
Bourjois actually states that this varnish lasts up to 10 days, and I can confirm that with a topcoat, the stuff lives up to the claim. Without it, you’re going to get six to seven good days – enough to last the whole week at work before you need to reapply.
They say: “A magic trick? No, a technical triumph! With an exclusive fortifying formula and angled touch-up brush, 10 Days Nail Enamel gives nails perfect colour and hold for up to 10 days. Nails are twice as string and chip-resistent with a luminous and subtly pearly finish. Time goes past, nail colour lasts!”
