Matthew Mueller, 28, and Katie Shaver, 31, scooped the award for Best Dressed couple in the Dubai World Cup 2011 Style Stakes contest.
Matthew, co-founder of clothing company Knot Standard, wore his own clothing line with emerald green accents to complement his wife’s stunning satin dress. Media consultant Katie had her 50s style frock made especially for the event. “I took the material to Montexa, a dressmaker in Satwa, and gave the brief of ‘Jackie O’ and this is what I got,” explained Katie, who completed her winning outfit with a hat from Australian milliner Karen Hamilton.
The married couple from the US have entered the competition three times, adding weight to the phrase “third time lucky”.
