Arab Film and TV Awards Categories Announced
The awards will take place 3 February 2015 at the Langham Hotel in London

The Producers of the first annual Arab Film and TV Awards (AFTVA) announced on 16 July that the awards will honour film and TV talent in 25 different categories.

The purpose of the awards is to highlight the region’s various film and television talents and to bring together Arab the film and television industry with its Western counterpart.

The categories are the following: Best Film, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Original Music Score, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Leading Actor TV, Best Leading Actress TV, Best TV Drama Series, Best TV Soap and Continuing Drama Series, Best TV Comedy Programme, Best Factual TV Programme, Best Light Entertainment Programme, Best TV Commercial, Lifetime Achievement Award and Rising Star Award.

Four awards will also honour international talent at the AFTVA, namely, Best International Film, Best International Actor in a Leading Role, Best International Actress in a Leading Role and a Western Lifetime Achievement Award.

There will also be a humanitarian award which will be given to an individual from the film and television industry who has done considerable humanitarian work.

The AFTVA will take place on 3 February 2015 at the Langham Hotel in Central London.
