Arab Fashion Week is Here and It's Teamed up with Instagram
Arab Fashion Week is back today! The exclusive event aims to showcase designers from the Arab world so they can make their mark on the international fashion scene.
Especially for the occasion, Eva Chen, Head of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, took the time to talk about the event. “Arab Fashion Week gives Arab designers the perfect opportunity to showcase their collections to the world, and is a great stepping stone for them as they cement their spot on the global fashion scene,” she explained.
She added, “Arabic fashion is definitely having a moment. I loved how hijabs featured at New York Fashion Week, especially at a time when what Muslim women choose to wear is causing such intense debate on a global scale. Instagram can be a place where fashion statements like this can become a movement, such as #RockTheAbaya, which sees women across the Middle East sharing their beautiful Abayas with the community.
She finished by saying, “As Instagram grows, it’s incredible to see people connect with emerging designers and creatives from all corners of the world.”
The designers of this season’s fashion week are Alberto Zambelli, Jamal Taslaq, Queen of Spades by Lamyaa Bedin, Cristiano Burani, Giada Curti and Laura Mancini Maison.
