Angelina Jolie Supports War Veterans for Thanksgiving
Angelina Jolie has thrown her support behind a Christmas campaign to help homeless war veterans in the U.K.
The Salt star has made a donation to the Homeless Veterans drive to aid former soldiers who are battling poverty following their time in the armed services.
The campaign, backed by the London Evening Standard newspaper, is raising money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity and Veterans Aid, and Jolie has urged Brits to give generously to help heroes in need.
She says, "As we spend the holidays with our families in our homes, and are able to give presents to our children, we should remember we owe this experience to the freedoms we enjoy, and to the men and women who served to protect us and secure our way of life. This holiday season many of them will be without a home, without food on the table, unable to buy toys for their children. We should do everything we can to show them our respect and gratitude."
Jolie's latest film, Unbroken, tells the story of Olympian-turned-war hero Louis Zamperini.
