Dusit jazz trio gets toes tapping at Pax...
Let's talk about sax, babyPax hit all the right notes with the Ahlan team the other night, when we were ushered in to experience the fabulous Loni Clark Trio, direct from the USA. In fact, we think she still had a touch of jet lag but she definitely didn't let it show as she belted out her jazzy classics! You can't beat a bit of sax on a Monday night! And if Loni's face and voice was familiar - she used to be lead singer for Motwon's group, The Marvelettes, for more than 15 years!
Pax has got that incredible view too - behind the band you can see Sheikh Zayad Road stretching out for miles in streams of red and white traffic lights, from the 24th floor. Jamming while you look at the jams - you can't get better than that!
Well, actually you can, when you combine your night of jazz with a treat from Pax's new Italian menu. We sampled some of the finest Italian wines, plus a beef carpaccio to die for. The tuna salad was exquisite and the desserts - mmmm, mamma! It was like she was right there cooking.
Trust us, dining to the jazz at Pax is a must. It would actually be a great night out for the visiting rellies at Christmas too. There's something quite festive and warm about the terracotta tones in the restaurant, and when Dad gets up to dance... well, you're so high up in the Dusit, no one will see you.
Jazz night at Pax - every night!
Pax is open 12 noon - 2am, 7 days a week. Tel (04) 343 3333
