For her under production film “Naukadubi”, director Rituparno Ghosh wanted Riya Sen's teeth and lips to look stained. To get the right effect, Riya had no choice but to chew paan (beetle leaf).

She had to chew practically 10 paans everyday to get that authentic look for the film. And since she could not manage to chew all of them, she swallowed some of them.

Interestingly, Riya is playing the role of a village girl who chews paan the whole day. So far, during 4 days of shooting Riya has eaten over 80 paans.

But Rituparno is also not leaving any stones unturned to pamper Riya and has made sure that she gets everything that she wants on the sets.
