The lights are back up for Broadway musical THE GRINCH after producers were given the green-light to open, despite ongoing strikes by stagehands.

A US judge allowed How The Grinch Stole Christmas! to reopen in New York at a hearing last Wednesday - good news for all, and for all a good night?

Producer, James Sanna says, "We got our miracle on 44th Street. We hope the League and Local 1 settle their differences so all of Broadway can be back up and running soon."

Cast and crew on all Broadway productions have been on strike since the 10th of November, supporting stagehands' quest for better pay.

Union bosses gave workers on The Grinch permission to return to work, because the show is only due to run during the Christmas period and is in danger of shutting down for good.

But theatre bosses refuse to let the strikers return, in support for other venues.
