The stage version of DOLLY PARTON's 1980 hit movie '9 to 5' will open at a theatre in Los Angeles next year!

The show - which has a score written by the country star and includes the hit single of the same name - will premiere at the Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre in September 2008 and run for one month.

The musical tells the story of three office workers who plot against their sexist boss and will be directed by Wicked's Joe Mantello.

Michael Ritchie, Artistic Director of the Center Theatre Group, says, "I will say this about Dolly Parton, she is unbelievable in her (theater) skills. She really understands the Broadway idiom.

"It's this great mix between her own personal style and sort of a classic Broadway show. The score sounds great."

It's not known whether the production will transfer to New York for a Broadway run but Ritchie insists it "has the potential".

Let's hope they can squeeze it/her and her assets into the Madinat, somehow??
