Oasis 'celebrate Abu Dhabi' City takeover
Will play massive concert to 'relaunch' club
Oasis 'celebrate Abu Dhabi' City takeoverSoccer-mad rockers Oasis are set to play a massive concert to celebrate the takeover of their favourite football team.
Singer LIAM GALLAGHER and his guitarist brother NOEL are huge fans of English Premiership team Manchester City - a club that was recently bought out by a wealthy Arab sheikh.
The new owners plan to "relaunch" the football club with a gala concert in the centre of the band's home city - and Oasis are being lined up as the ultimate special guests.
A source says, "Employees who knew the club inside out were asked to put forward suggestions (for the show). The owners want to ally themselves with strong brands and see Oasis as playing a vital role helping to move the club forward very quickly.
"They hope to use the Gallaghers - the club's most famous fans - to improve the brand and relationship with fans. Acts such as Oasis don't come cheap - but obviously that isn't an issue."
