PETE DOHERTY has written to AMY WINEHOUSE's incarcerated husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL - to assure him he has had no romantic involvement with the singer.

The Babyshambles frontman wrote the letter after worrying that pictures of himself and the Rehab singer in the press would cause Fielder-Civil to get the wrong idea.

He recalls, "I said, 'Blake, mate, I love the pair of you. I've no interest in Amy like that. I hope you know.'

"He wrote back saying, 'Don't listen to what people say. I know it's not true."

Blake Fielder-Civil is currently behind bars after being convicted on charges of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and perverting the course of justice.
