As the girls embark on the fifth series of Desperate Housewives, we couldn’t help but notice that they’ve all had a little bit of help from that celeb best friend, Mr Airbrush.

Ahlan! reveals the stars’ real ages (well, the ones their agents claim are real, anyway) and how they’re handling getting older, without anyone to fix those flaws for them in the real world…

At ease with ageing?

On ageing: “I was asking my doctor the other day how I got [this lump under my eye] and how to get rid of it, and finally he just said, ‘Teri, it’s just a barnacle of age.’ My body’s taken on a new shape. It’s more about being comfortable with your body than anything else.”

Advice for 40-somethings

On ageing: “I didn’t want to put out the myth that you can be in your 40s and just pop out kids. I just don’t want to do that. Have your babies younger if you can, which I would have done, but I just didn’t find my husband until later. There’s nothing easy about it.”
