DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN and her fiancé MICHAEL BOLTON have split.

The 44-year-old actress and the crooner, 55, announced their plans to wed in March 2006 after reconciling almost a decade after they first split.

In a statement, the couple's spokeswoman Nicole Perna says, "Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement. They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."

The couple first started dating in 1992.
