Paris confident her former friend will win an award

PARIS HILTON is tipping her former friend BRITNEY SPEARS to win at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

Spears has secured nominations for two awards at the VMAs ceremony - Best Female and Best Pop Video categories, for her track Piece of Me.

And the socialite is convinced the Gimme More hitmaker can walk away with the gongs.

Hilton says, "I love Britney. I think she looks so beautiful right now.
"I'm really happy for her. She looks amazing and she better win the VMAs. She's the best."

The MTV VMAs show is set to air in the US on September 7.
