With its huge comfy chairs, clued-up waiters and sizzling open kitchen, Prime Rib is the perfect date destination and purveyor of fabulous comfort food, which saw us tucking into starters of mini steak and kidney pie and pea soup with crème fraiche.

Mains are huge and there are seafood options for non-steak eaters. With T-bones so big they look like they came off a passing T-Rex, juicy rump steaks and beyond delish tenderloin with choices of sauces and side dishes (and we recommend ordering up a yorkshire pud with anything!), it’s lucky the desserts are so light. Oh, and red wine drinkers should try a glass of the Tempranillo, as we were reliably informed that J-Lo had the exact same served at her wedding. Not sure, which of her weddings, but…
