How the dad-to-be is preparing for the new arrival

Good Charlotte frontman JOEL MADDEN is looking forward to fiance NICOLE RICHIE giving birth - so he can design clothes for the baby!

The 28-year-old - who has a fashion line called DCMA with twin Benji and brother Josh - has finished touring with the band and has been 'baby-proofing'
the couple's Los Angeles home in preparation for the tot's arrival in January.

A source tells New York Daily News, "The (Madden) boys are screening tiny tees and onesies for the new baby. Joel has all kinds of ideas for baby clothes and he gets such a kick out of them when he sees how small they are!"

He should be used to it, dating Nicole.
