ANGELINA JOLIE and MARIAH CAREY's former make-up artist has been found dead in his Los Angeles home.

PAUL STARR - who also worked with JENNIFER GARNER, JESSICA ALBA and RENEE ZELLWEGER - was found after neighbours alerted the authorities.

The cause of death is still unknown.

Starr, 48, had worked in the make-up industry for over two decades and won praise from Hollywood's elite.

In 2005 he released his book, Paul Starr on Beauty: Conversations with Thirty Celebrated Women, in which some of his most famous clientsn praised him.

In the book Angelina Jolie writes: "During the time we have spent in the make up chair, we talked about everything but the photo shoot; global issues, babies, human rights..."

Jennifer Garner also contributes to the book. She writes: "Paul Starr has this uncanny ability to look at a face and see what it needs. He's done my face a thousand times and never repeated a look.

"I have never felt more like the best version of myself than when Paul has made me up."
