Katie's 'mum, move out!' ultimatumThey've never lived on their own together, but now Katie's insisting that Tom's family leave their home. Will their relationship survive their own company?
He's always been close to his mum and Scientology-follower sisters Lee Anne, Marian and Cass, but it seems that Tom's family ties have finally proved enough for Katie.
The actress is said, by pals, to be sick of living her life like a "family reunion every day", and is insisting that Tom's mum Mary, Cass and her two children all move out of the A-list couple's Beverly Hills home, so they can finally start to live like a normal family.
But worried friends of the couple have revealed that the new arrangement could spell the end for TomKat, as they have never lived alone before, with insiders worried how they will cope.
All the in-laws
‘Never been alone together'
When Tom's older sister Lee Anne disastrously took over as his publicist in 2004, she immediately moved in with her brother and was already settled in when the actor got together with Katie in 2005.
Tom's mum Mary followed, as did his other sister and her brood, and Katie admitted, "We live with my sister-in-law [Cass], her two sons, my mother-in-law, and [Tom's] kids Isabella and Connor."
And at various times throughout their married life, TomKat's home has housed Tom's other sister too.
Family first
Mummy's boy At 46
At 46, Tom still lives with his mum and sisters, and it is these relationships that Katie is said to have grown tired of.
"He always welcomes his family into his house," a source spilled. Adding that Cass - also a Scientologist - has homeschooled Connor and Isabella.
"Cass and her sons have been an integral part of Tom's life, and Cass helps take care of Tom's children when he is away."
It's my mansion!
Katie: ‘enough is enough'
While work was being completed on their Dhs126 million Beverly Hills mansion, Tom and Katie moved into Scientology accommodation with the entire family, which is when, say pals, she decided this had to end.
"It's like a huge family reunion every day at their house," a friend said. "It's about time for them to live alone. They never have done."
Whose side will Tom choose?
Although their new mansion could happily accommodate Tom's family, the actor is said to have agreed with his wife and has told his mum and sister that they can no longer live with the pair.
"Tom agreed things needed to be different," said the source. "He assured her that they would not be moving in with them." And the Mission Impossible star has told Mary and Cass that they will have to stay living at the Scientology Centre.
