REESE WITHERSPOON and JAKE GYLLENHAAL have denied reports they are to marry.

Brokeback Mountain star Gyllenhaal was rumoured to have proposed to the 32-year-old actress and reports claimed the couple was planning a winter wedding.

But representatives for both stars have dismissed the stories, saying: "They are not engaged, getting married or any of the reports."

The pair met in 2006 on the set of their thriller Rendition.
