5 Things to Do in the UAE This Week
Here's 5 things to do between now and the next Ahlan!
THU 18 FEB
SEE THE GAME AT VIP ROOM
…and we’re not talking footy – The Game is a Grammy-nominated American rapper bringing his own brand of fierce beats to Dubai’s VIP Room. Having sold millions of albums, with key hits including How We Do, Put You On The Game and Hate It or Love It, his newest single, Celebration features Lil Wayne and Tyga (aka Mr Kylie Kardashian). We can’t wait to see him wow the crowd.
INFO: Free entry, but booking advised, 11pm-3am, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Business Bay, Dubai, 052 881 8888, guestlist@viproom-dubai.com/bookings@viproom-dubai.com

FRI 19 FEB
GET DOWN WITH HARDWELL AT MEYDAN
Electronic dance music superstar Hardwell will play Meydan, where the Dutch ‘big room house’ dynamo will showcase his solo mega-hit global tour and headline with a three-hour exclusive set following opening act Kill the Buzz. The venue will be designed to include a fully equipped food and beverage village selling snacks, drinks and amenities, and there’ll be purpose-built elevated Deluxe and VIP platforms boasting panoramic views of the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai skyline and the stars (both celestial and on stage).
INFO: Dhs295 general admission, Dhs650 deluxe tickets including open bar and elevated VIP Platform, 21-plus only; 7pm-2am, 056 192 3148, iamhardwelldubai.com

SAT 20 FEB
PARTY AT PIKNIC ELECTRONIK
Piknic Electronik is an internationally renowned brand of family-friendly daytime electronic music festivals. It has been an iconic Sunday event for a decade of summers in Montreal, Canada, and has been a big hit in Barcelona, too. The Dubai edition is a bi-monthly bash with the best of electronic music at the core of its mission, attracting fans of the genre and their families looking to enjoy the weekend out with their friends.
INFO: Early bird tickets cost Dhs130, Dhs150 and Dhs170 thereafter on platinumlist.com, 1pm-9pm, The Address Montgomerie, 04 424 8838, dubai.piknicelectronik.com

EVERY TUE
SPICE IT UP AT BRICK LANE CURRY NIGHT
The Black Lion in the H Hotel has just launched its curry-themed Brick Lane Beats night in homage to London’s street famous for fabulous Indian restaurants. Better yet, Ahlan! contributor Drew will be singing for his supper (plus additional salary, we assume), wielding his acoustic guitar from 8pm. Trust us, we’ve heard him, and he’s an authority on words, written and sung.
INFO: Dhs78 for curry and accompaniments, 11am-3am, Ground floor, H Hotel Dubai. 1 Sheikh Zayed Road, 04 359 2366, reservations@theblacklion.ae, theblacklion.ae

EVERY WED
GET YOUR CHEESE FIX AT BISTRO DES ARTS
Raclette is the ultimate discovery for cheese lovers. It’s a French and Swiss speciality where molten cheese dripping from the wheel is served with potato and pickles. Simple, but utterly uh-mazing! Up until now we’ve only been able to enjoy this delight with a flight to Europe – but Bistro Des Arts has changed that with its Raclette nights, due to climax in a gooey cheesy frenzy mid-March, so don’t miss it!
INFO: Dhs245 with selected drinks, 8pm-10pm, Bistro Des Arts, Dubai Marina, 04 551 1576, info@bistrodesarts.ae, bistrodesarts.ae
