One fifth of British girl band Girls Aloud star NICOLA ROBERTS has laughed off recent press reports that she's engaged to be married.

The 22-year-old ginger crooner insists she and boyfriend of ten months Carl Davis are taking their relationship slowly, despite claims earlier this month that they were planning to shoot down the aisle like band mate Cheryl Cole.

But Roberts is adamant she foresees marriage in the couple's future.

She says, "I'm not engaged! It's funny because lots of people keep ringing me to ask and I'm like, 'No!'

"But I can really see us getting married and being together forever."
