Orly’s week of bloomers

As far as weeks go, it's no wonder Orlando Bloom's looking slightly sheepish. After having his face splashed all over the tabloid press when reports bizarrely suggested he was dating Jennifer Aniston (he's not), the Pirates of the Caribbean star was linked in quick succession to Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr, 24.

Both women have denied being romantically involved with him, with Miranda telling friends, "Orlando is a nice guy but we're just friends. We actually ran into each other by coincidence and then someone took a photo, turning a molehill into a mountain."

The pair were spotted dining together last week, only days after holidaymakers in Mexico thought that Orly had finally picked his leading lady after he was spotted with Jennifer. "They [Orlando and Jennifer Aniston] looked really happy together, and spent most of the time cuddling and touching each other," one onlooker was reported to have said, after the two arrived for a friend's wedding in Puerto Vallarta on a private jet from LA.

"She's always had a bit of a thing for him but the last time they met they both had partners," revealed a source close to Jen, who believes the 38-year-old actress would love something to happen with Orlando, eight years her junior. "The chemistry between them is apparently amazing. They have a great deal in common and obviously enjoyed each other's company."

But, for once, Jen's friends look to be wide of the mark. Just days after the Mexico trip, Orlando was back wining and dining Miranda at New York restaurant Megu. Her agent admitted, "He's obviously very keen but they're just friends... at this stage." Meanwhile Jen was busy helping actor Owen Wilson get over his recent suicide attempt, while also squeezing in an ‘old times sake' date with her ex Vince Vaughn.

After his week of rejection, poor Orly then found himself the focus of the paparazzi once again when he pranged his car leaving an LA nightclub last weekend.

Now that's what we call crash and burn!
