How James Blunt is beautifying Sesame Street
Brought to you by the letters J and B...Remember the good old days? Sitting home, chewing on a Rusk and basking in the wonderful light from a telly that tells you the world is a glorious place, filled with singing chickens and purple, talking monsters? Well, now unfortunately, it's a place for popstars and shameful album plugs, but that's capitalism for you.
Singer JAMES BLUNT has become the latest celebrity to appear on classic US kids' show Sesame Street. Seriously, is nothing sacred anymore?
The bearded whinger, 33, showed his cheeky side by transforming his hit single You're Beautiful into an ode to the triangle, apparently. Quite how he managed this remains to be seen, but we're almost hoping the final crescendo sees Oscar the Grouch dragging him into a garbage can and screwing the lid on tight. Maybe then he won't threaten us with a Christmas hit?
Blunt, who recorded the show in New York last year as part of its 38th season, admits the chance to meet the famous cuddly puppets was too good to miss. We can sort of understand this...
He says, "It's a huge honor. It's an age-old program and one of the best kinds of things possibly on television at the moment because it's all about
education. I met Elmo and Telly and I did a duet about the triangle. You learn something new every day. It was very funny."
Well it was. Until you ruined it.
