Stud-U-Like
No longer exclusive to biker chicks, pyramid studs are all the rage...

Hollywood is having a heavy metal moment. Mossy, Thandie Newton and Helena Christensen have all been indulging in the pyramid stud trend, and J Lo seemingly can't bear to be parted from her Burberry Prorsum studded platforms (although we're sure her soon to be puffy ankles will put a stop to that!)
Shiny and tough, pyramid studs have been a must-have for the chic celeb ever since fashion wonder boy, Giles Deacon, produced his fabulous patent pyramid studded bags for Mulberry. From shoes to dresses to Burberry's oh-so-hot umbrellas, these edgy embellishments have finally made it onto a high street near you - and into the wardrobes of stylish girls everywhere. Start with heavily studded accessories to ease into the trend - a belt, bag or bangle - but avoid the studded collar at all costs. No-one wants to look like a rottweiler in a wig, do they?
Love it!

A few well placed studs are about as close as I'm going to get to being a biker chick - but I'm loving the oversized stud (the metal type, I mean) especially on those gorg Mulberry bags. Thankfully, the huge motorbike and ZZ top beard are the optional extras I won't be wearing them with. Rock and roll!
Hate it!

What am I, Sid Vicious? Pyramid studs smack to me of tacky goth-punk shops and so I find this fash flashback - whether or not mixed in with a bit of mid-80s Madonna - has me tutting like the most disapproving of respectable citizens. Just like my mum did when I wore them the first time around...
