Jamie Lynn Gives Birth

BRITNEY SPEARS and her family are "thrilled" with the arrival of little sister, JAMIE LYNN's newborn daughter.

The 17-year-old sister of pop star Britney gave birth to MADDIE BRIANN, her first child with fiance CASEY ALDRIDGE, at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi on Thursday.

Family patriarch Jamie, who was said to be present at the birth, says despite Jamie Lynn being just 17, the entire family are delighted with the newest member of their clan.

He tells America's Life & Style magazine, "We're thrilled, we're all absolutely thrilled."

Big sister Britney was on hand to offer her baby sister support during the birth after arriving in Louisiana the day before.

But her visit was short-live as she and father Jamie flew back to LA the following day - amid a frenzied media scrum.

Jamie Lynn and Casey became engaged in March shortly after the star stunned the Spears family when she announced her pregnancy news, at the age of 16.

They had reportedly been delaying their wedding until after the birth of their child, but sources close to the couple say the family have been at war with pipe-fitter Aldridge because of his refusal to sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
