WHY? Even though the 24 star was sentenced to 48 days in jail, the good guy was more concerned about how it would affect his fellow cast and crew members than the fact he was going to jail for nearly two months.

"Kiefer's first concern was the welfare of those he worked with," said a studio exec about the 40-year-old. "He told us that even if he had to sacrifice more time in custody in order to protect the show and the jobs of those who work with him, he would do so."

And being a man of his word, he's now facing Christmas Day behind bars. What a nice guy!
