Cheryl's got the X Factor

GIRLS ALOUD singer CHERYL COLE is set to replace SHARON OSBOURNE on the XFACTOR, according to reports.

Cheryl, who won her place in the girl band through TV talent contest POP STARS THE RIVALS, is rumoured to be taking to the judges panel after Sharon sensationally quit this week.

The rock matriarch is said to have resigned after a series of screaming rows with fellow judge DANNI MINOGUE, who joined the show last year.

Yesterday Sharon admitted she had also asked for a "ridiculous" pay rise, which bosses refused, before she quit the show.

She says, "Yes, I asked for a ridiculous amount of money and they offered me an obscene amount."

"It is all ridiculous in this industry, we are all overpaid. We get paid too bloody much, that is why we are all drama queens."

The star reportedly demanded a $2 million rise, taking her salary for the three-month show up to $5 million.

But the TV mum is giving her backing to Cheryl, who has reportedly been approached by Simon Cowell to take Osbourne's place on the show.

She adds, "I've heard they're asking Cheryl from Girl's Aloud, who I love.

I'd like to see Cheryl. It will be interesting and take the show to a different place."
