"I'm giving them the childhood I always wished I had"
How Brangelina are bringing up a family of super-brats...
George Clooney isn't joking when he says of allowing Brad to visit his prized Lake Como villa, "I've told him he can't bring his children." The Oscar winner's seen the havoc Brad's brood can wreak, after witnessing their on-set visits while filming Ocean's Thirteen.
Now, as sources close to the Jolie-Pitts, and even Ange, admit that the family's expansion has left the kids fighting for their parents' attention, Ahlan! reveals why Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and the two new arrivals may end up the next generation of unchecked Hollywood brats.
Absolute chaos at home
With the four kids able to eat whatever they want - with chocolate and pizza for breakfast a favourite - and at any time, ex-employees have been left aghast. With TVs blaring, phones ringing and the family taking constant deliveries of toys and clothes, sources say it's a madhouse - a scene that will only worsen now that the family have moved into a Dhs220 million estate in France, complete with 35 bedrooms and two pools.
"Their friends in Los Angeles, New Orleans and even Italy all say the same thing," insists a source. "It's insane."
"No rules"
Late bedtimes, bath time when the children feel like it and a complete absence of structure have all contributed to the chaos that reigns supreme in the Jolie-Pitt household. And while pals of Brad say the actor tries his best to impose a regime, Angelina is dead set against it.
"Angelina doesn't believe in old-fashioned restrictions because she finds them oppressive," a pal told Star. "So her rule is to have few rules." And soft-touch Ange recently readily admitted, "I suppose I'm giving them the childhood I always wished I had."
Brad's struggling
Soon to be a father of six, witnesses at the Cannes film festival have talked of how the 44-year-old appeared to be under immense pressure.
While Ange, 33, promoted her new movie, Kung Fu Panda, Brad was left - in the words of one onlooker - "trying" to look after the four kids - all aged under six, and looking exhausted at the prospect of the new twins' arrival.
No traditional schooling
While most young children get a sense of order from regularly attending school, at six, Maddox has never settled into one school for longer than a term. And as for child-rearing, Ange appears desperate to educate her kids in a ‘trendy boho' way.
"We communicate to the point where we probably annoy our children," Ange told Vanity Fair. "We have art around the house, we have books, we go to plays, we talk. Our focus is art and painting and dress-up and singing. It's what we love."
Cultural barriers developing
Insiders say that, having been schooled in French, that's the only language Maddox wants to communicate in at home, despite no other family member being proficient. Ange herself reveals, "We have ladies that work with us, and they're also from different cultures and backgrounds. One lady's a Vietnamese teacher - wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Belgium. Another is from the States and... does art programs."
Shiloh is suffering
Although she'll soon be welcoming two more biological siblings, two-year-old Shiloh - who, sources say, has hit the ‘terrible twos' hard - is not looking forward to the arrivals.
"This is the end of Shiloh's time as the baby of the family," a close pal of Brad's told Star. "As much as they want Shiloh to feel secure, she's now going to have to make do with even less attention."
Another source tellingly reveals, "They love [Shiloh], but Brad and Angie have been having a lot of problems with her. She still wants to be the baby - she wants to sleep with mom and dad. And Shiloh throws a fit whenever they go shopping and Angie asks her whether she wants to buy the twins something."
"I'll adopt again"
She hasn't even given birth to her second and third biological children, but already, serial-adopter Angelina is looking forward to her next adoption.
"We keep thinking, ‘Is there ever going to be a time when we don't have kids in the house?'" mused the actress. "Maybe we'll eventually start a foster home or something... But I think we will adopt again. I'd like to do it again."
Ange: "we have a gun at home... I'd use it"
Despite her work as a UN ambassador and position as a Hollywood ‘earth mother', Angelina has sensationally revealed that she keeps guns at her home... and wouldn't hesistate to shoot someone if need be!
"If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I've no problem shooting them," she insisted. "Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one. And yes, I would be able to use it if I had to."
And the soon-to-be mum-of-six says she based her gun choices on the ones she used whilst filming 2001's Tomb Raider - "[They are] for security."
