Fourteen directors, managers and consultants with occupations ranging from construction and finance to nursing and the military, will step into a boxing ring next month in front of a capacity audience for the third White Collar Fight Night.

The unique event combines a black tie dinner and entertainment gala night, culminating in the seven White Collar boxing bouts. To be held at Dubai's Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa Hotel on Friday, June 6, organizers, the Transguard Group and Lonsdale, are promising a night that packs plenty of punch.

White Collar Boxing was specifically created for people from all walks of life with no prior experience. Each competitor receives professional training and coaching and boxes under the rules of White Collar, which place a priority on competitor safety and welfare.

"This year's event looks set to be the best and biggest to date with an increased audience capacity of 820 people," said Transguard Group event organizer, John Mamea-Wilson.

"We have 14 competitors of all ages, statures and fitness levels. Our professional trainers ensure that competitors are equally matched in all areas and that they are ready to compete on the night."

A team of trainers and fitness experts are currently taking each competitor through a rigorous eight-week training programme in preparation for their entry into the ring and their introduction to a real life experience of the noble art.

Concentrating on improving fitness through exercise and diet, as well as teaching the noble art of boxing, the training is preparing the competitors for the night of their lives. Considerable stress is placed on fitness with competitors following a 10-point guide to optimising nutrition and performance.

Each bout consists of three, two minute rounds, fought under the rigorous rules of White Collar and under the supervision of a professional referee. There are no losers; anyone who trains and then competes in White Collar is considered a winner.
