Kick the habit
If, like Mischa, you love coffee, a drink and the odd cigarette or 20, you're not helping. Cigarettes and alcohol increase fat levels in the blood, slowing circulation, while caffeine hardens blood vessel walls, restricting blood supply - something your cellulite-affected areas need.
Stay in shape
Exercise speeds up the metabolic rate and builds muscle, which makes cellulite less noticeable. Aim for an hour of exercise that makes you break a sweat three times a week, and do squats and lunges to firm the bum and thighs.
Hit the salon
Boost the effects of your efforts with a specific anti-cellulite body treatment. Endermologie firms the skin with a vacuum-style massage technique, which restructures the connective tissue. Smooth-limbed Coleen McLoughlin is a huge fan.
Stop sun-worshipping
Cellulite is less noticeable on tanned skin, but UVA rays damage the skin by releasing free radicals that prematurely age the skin's cells by attacking collagen. The result? Sagging, wrinkly skin with reduced elasticity, which is more prone to cellulite. The solution? Fake tan all the way!
Veg out
Eating fruit and vegetables is essential. Stock up on apples and pears, which detoxify and reduce water retention, anti-ageing avocados and carrots, potassium-rich bananas to keep your metabolism up, antioxidant-rich berries and liver-cleansing greens - the more colourful the better.
Body brush
Brushing the body every day with a brush made of firm, natural fibres helps soften skin, stimulates lymphatic flow and boosts circulation. Dry brush from your feet upward using long strokes towards the heart for five minutes before your shower to kick-start your circulation.
Strengthen skin from within
Cram foods rich in essential fatty acids like olives, flaxseed and walnut oil, nuts, and oily fish into your diet. Good fats strengthen connective tissue around the fat cells, improving elasticity as well as boosting your metabolic rate to burn calories.
Drink up!
We all know we should drink more water, but it really does wash out toxins, help to burn fat and improve lumps and bumps. Better still, drink ice cold water - you'll burn extra calories bringing it back to body temperature.
Say no to salt
A high salt intake causes fluid retention and puts a strain on your lymphatic drainage system - which makes cellulite look worse. Ditch salt-loaded processed foods and use herbs, black pepper and lemon or lime juice to season your food.
Beat the peel
Use an anti-cellulite cream: it really will make a difference to your skin. Choose creams with cellulite-zapping ingredients such as peptides, retinol, caffeine and seaweed extract, and massage into the skin every day after showering, and once again before bed.
