The plot
Despite the rather tedious title - how on earth did they come up with Sex And The City: The Movie, we wonder? - we guarantee there is nothing vaguely dull about the most long-awaited fashion flick of the year.

When the cameras started rolling on Fifth Avenue just days ago, rumours were already flying over the film's hotly guarded plot. With most of the original SATC crew back on board, Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson's joined as Carrie's new assistant, and Scarlett Johansson and Alicia Keys are said to have been lined up for cameo appearances. But while exact details of the sizzling storyline is being kept heavily under wraps (and who are we to spoil your fun?), one thing is for certain. According to our spies, enormous, glitzy rings are going to be a significant part of the film for one of the fab foursome. And we're not just talking costume jewellery, if you catch our drift.

The clothes
Plot aside, it's the outfits that are really getting us hot under the collar. Courtesy of award-winning stylist Patricia Field, Carrie and co look set to be sporting the most sickeningly fabulous outfits in SATC's history.

From Carrie's adorable miniature Eiffel Tower hand bag (courtesy of LA designer Timmy Wood) to the most impressively impractical shoe and frock combos we've seen in ages, eclectic dressing is well and truly back on the radar. Think prom dresses, knee-high socks, power suits, statement coats, novelty bags, eye-popping prints, oversized knitwear and HUGE corsages - topped off, of course, with those ubiquitous killer heels.

Our advice? Get on the waiting list at Dior and Burberry for Carrie's fabulous fetish-style footwear now, and put your name down at Fendi and Chanel for any of the girl's deliciously frivolous bags pronto - or risk feeling seriously sartorially inept in the queue at the cinema.

The men
As if all the fabulous fashion on display wasn't enough eye candy to keep you happy, there are plenty of handsome men to ensure your peepers are glued to the screen.

Hunky Smith Jarrod is back in man-eating Samantha's very lucky arms, slightly geeky Steve is keeping Miranda suitably grouchy, and Harry is still Charlotte's Prince Charming - albeit a rather short and bald one. But best of all? Yes, Big is back and better than ever. Having rescued Carrie from the brink of boyfriend meltdown at the end of Series six, everyone's favourite toxic bachelor has returned to New York - and promises to have Carrie teetering on the edge of heartache faster than you can say ‘total commitment-phobe'. Or does he? We can't wait to find out...
