As the second in line to the throne, Prince Wills has never had the luxury of naughtiness afforded to his younger brother Harry. The 25-year-old Prince came under fire this month after he provided a "stag do taxi service" by using a Dhs75 million RAF Chinook chopper to ferry his mates to the Isle of Wight, which according to an RAF spokesman "tested his new skills to the limit". But other sources say that Wills has carte-blanche to do what he likes.

Wills let his (receding) hair down to celebrate his cousin Peter Phillips' stag do, allegedly dropping his trousers in front of pub-goers and, along with Harry, attempting to get girls to flash them. But he saved his best prank for last. "William got us to lie beside Peter to take incriminating photos," spilled a local girl.

In Wills' latest stunt he landed a Chinook on Kate Middleton's parents' lawn. And whilst the Middletons "watched in delight", top RAF bods were infuriated. But it's not like the prince will get reprimanded, as RAF sources have insisted, "William hasn't done anything wrong, but the naivety of those around him... is astonishing."

According to sources, 2008 is the year Kate is expecting a big old ring to be plonked on that finger. But while she and Wills are still going strong, Royal-watcher Katie Nicholl insists, "The message I'm hearing from all of his friends and the people close to him is that he doesn't want it just yet... I would be surprised if you'd see a ring."
