Has Robbie lost the plot?
Fears as lonely star becomes obsessed with aliens
Singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS hasn't released a record for song long, he may as well have been kidnapped by aliens.
Well he has - kind of.
While his former Take That buddies are enjoying revived chart success, the pop prince has developed a deep obsession with aliens and spends his time holed up in his LA mansion watching DVDs about them.
Now Robbie has taken his obsession a step further by teaming up with British journalist Jon Ronson to investigate their existence for a new radio documentary.
On the show, entitled Robbie Williams And Jon Ronson Journey To The Other Side - Williams and Ronson attend a UFO conference in Laughlin, Nevada to hear stories about alien abductions.
There are fears over Robbie's mental state after the star is recorded asking a scientist: "Do you worry that the aliens might want their stuff back? Do you get scared they may want to come and get their transmitters back?"
Robbie also says he thinks alien spacecraft are always in our skies and that we only see them when their protective shields fall off.
During the documentary Williams even admits his fixation has made him question his own sanity.
He says: "Questioning someone's sanity when this is happening to them is perfectly acceptable. I question my own a lot."
The 34-year-old, who is signed to record label EMI in a deal worth $160 million (#80 million), was due to release an album this autumn (08) - but this has now been postponed while he has a break.
He says, "I've been working since I was 16. I've put out 10 albums in 10 years and it takes its toll. I'm just having a break. I'm classic 'don't show me any debunking stuff' - because I want to believe."
