Dan Marsh

It never crossed Dan Marsh’s mind that he’d be living in Dubai and together with his best friend, Tom, presenting one of the city’s most popular radio shows, “I’ve never been as inspired as I am now. And I hope that comes across when I meet people and if they hear my voice coming out of a radio near them,” he says. “It’s such a great and diverse audience here in Dubai that it really calls on your skills to communicate to all kinds of people from all over the world.” He enthuses about the ‘amazing’ opportunities there are for the taking in Dubai, and Dan’s certainly had his fair share of them, “warming up for Fatboy Slim was definitely one for the CV, being on Dubai One with Tom was cool and watching those rather expensive Atlantis fireworks from the beach we shouldn’t have been on was a memorable experience too!”

Tom Bushell

The other half of the cheeky DJ duo, Tom Bushell, is rather content with his lot in life, and who can blame him? “I’m on the radio every night on Dubai 92 with my best mate. Who can’t be happy with that? And as I have always wanted to be on the radio, and have always wanted a best mate, I would say it was my dream job, yes!” In June 2008 he flew to Dubai for a holiday and within a week was working on Dubai 92, “When you first come here, it’s all a little daunting, a little alien like. But the more you venture out, the more things you do and people you meet it becomes a home away from home. It happens all of a sudden too. Whenever I drive past the Burj Khalifa, I think ‘I’m just driving past the world’s tallest building’, and that is quite weird for me to be a daily occurrence. At home, walking past the library was pretty exciting, but here weird things are the norm.”
